In 1979 I went to see The Ramones at the Palladium in NYC for the New Years show with my friend Henry Rapoport. We attended Poughkeepsie Day School, he lived in Lagrangeville and his father Sidney had an apartment in Greenwich Village. His father took us out to dinner and we attended the concert, slept over and the next day his father gave us a tour of his printing business. There he took out a mailing tube, opened a flat file drawer and took out the poster and put it in the tube so I could have a souvenir of my visit. I didn't know how important it was but my parents liked it and I used thumb tacks to put it up in my room through high school then my dorm on college. Later it remained rolled up and was in storage for about 20 years until I got it framed. It survived a fire in Rhinebeck NY where the apartment upstairs from mine had an electrical fire and my ceiling collapsed from the water used to put out the fire. Own a piece of music and counter-cultural history and give this artifact a good home.
