The Adirondack Red Wings were the minor league team for the Detroit Red Wings for 20 years (1979-1999). They played in Glens Falls, NY, as part of the American Hockey League. The team only missed the playoffs once in 20 years.
After 1999, the Detroit Red Wings wanted their minor league team closer to the parent team, so they moved the team to the Toledo area.
These two programs are from the 1987 season. The first one, from March 8, is 72 pages (vs. New Haven Nighthawks) and features future Detroit Red Wings Dennis Smith and Rick Zombo.
The second program is 48 pages(vs. Utica Devils). Each page number is inside a pair of hockey skates on the bottom.
Some of the Detroit Red Wings that played for Adirondack included Shawn Burr, Tim Cheveldae, Steve Chiasson, Dallas Drake, Kris Draper, Petr Klima, Tomas Holmstrom, Joey Kocur, Pete Mahovlich, Martin Lapointe, Joe Murphy, Darren McCarty, Adam Oates, John Ogradnik, Chris Osgood, Keith Primeau, Bob Probert and—yes—even Ken Holland.
Both programs are in excellent shape with photos, feature stories, and plenty of ads from Glens Falls.
